5 way to make Mothers Day special (even in lockdown!)

Mothers day in lockdown
  1. Virtual Family Party

We’re all getting quite bored of the Zoom parties now but if you have a few people you’d like to celebrate with, why not jump on a brunch Zoom call where you all sip some fizz and have a good old catch up. You could all play this great Mother’s Day quiz from Smooth Radio:

  1. Time Out Tokens

There is no denying that mum’s love spending time with their children but lockdown has token its toll on many of us and we could all do with a break. Why not make some home made tokens for things your mum likes to do alone. 1 token = 30 minutes to themselves, undisturbed to spend however they wish! Then she can cash these tokens in when she needs to.

  1. Flower Delivery

Is there any mum out there that doesn’t love being surprised with a big, beautiful bouquet? There are now so many lovely companies offering fuss-free delivery options (a lot of them offer fast delivery if you’ve left it a bit late). We ALWAYS recommend upgrading to add in the box of chocolates they often offer at the checkout too.

  1. Home Made is Best

We’re all very bored during lockdown and can often feel uninspired. This is the same for our little ones. Get everyone’s creative juices flowing and bring out the arts and crafts box. Whether it’s making your own cards or making your own decorations – all mum’s appreciate when love and effort has been put into their gifts.

There’s tonnes of ideas ranging from simple to a bit more adventurous to be found on Pinterest.

  1. Food Glorious Food!

Food is the way to a lot of our hearts. Go all out and get your little ones to help make their mum breakfast in bed. This could something simple like toast or you could pull out all the stops and make pancakes with bacon and syrup.

Not much of a cook? Support a local café/ restaurant and order breakfast to be delivered right to your door! Alternatively, Mother’s Day is always on a Sunday which can only mean one thing… a roast dinner! Lots of local pubs and restaurants are offering Mothers Day menus including a roast dinner of your choice and a delicious dessert. What more could any Mum want?
